An ambient album I recorded at the time of my father's death. In 2007 my father Fernando died after a number of years affected by Alzheimers. He lost his short term memory and forgot who we were unless reminded. He lost his personality before our eyes.

When he died there was a sense relief because we had lost him some years before. He was cremated and I had the strange honour of scattering his ashes at High and Over, a beautiful hill top which he had been fond of.

I created two ambient albums as a way to process and understand my feelings of loss. The first was Ashes to Ashes.

Both are ambient explorations based around grief and acceptance of the inevitability of death, viewed as impermanence.
